The last total solar eclipse until 2015 has begun, with the moon crossing in front of the sun in a celestial event that will ultimately send the moon's shadow on a three-hour trek across Earth's surface, starting in northern Australia.

When I was young i used to wait until pops was asleep and then I would grab a big saucepan and clang it behind his head. He would jump 2ft into the air!

I remember when your Mum was little she used to rock back and forth in her high chair. Poppy fixed a plank of wood to the back of the chair so she would hit her head and stop rocking. It didn't work Mum just starting rocking from side to side.

When I was in Grade 2, I had a fight with my younger brother Matt. He actually bit me through my jeans and left teeth marks on my bottom. I told my Grade 2 teacher, Mrs Bonner, that I could not sit down because my brother had bit me on the bottom. I was mortified when she laughed! 

I have never taken on Uncle Matt again.....

One day it was dinner time and my little sister kept falling off her chair. So Dad tied her to the chair with her dressing gown cord. But then she needed to go to the toilet and everybody laughed except Dad. :)

Olympics

the Olympics are coming we are all getting ready 

the tour'de France is on a it is the biggest race of the year.  people from all over the world come to see the stars of the day.  many people come and dress up and suepport the riders and take photos.  Peter Sagan only in his 20's and has won 2 stages.

Today is the third day of holidays it is still the morning all I have done so far is watch TV.  My Dad has to go to work today and my sisters are helping Mum do some cleaning.

Sunday

On Sunday I went to my cousin Grace naming ceremony. I had lots of fun with my Family and Friends. I got to play my ukulele. It was lots of fun but one of the best things about it was that I got to play with my Mum.

It is the last chance of your life to catch one of the rarest cosmic spectacles - Venus slowly crossing the face of the sun.

But in true British fashion, the weather is likely to put a dampener on the transit of Venus when it becomes visible from the UK in the early hours of this morning.

While the rain may hold off in places, the Met Office predicts more cloud cover across much of the country, although some may be lucky enough to catch a sunny spell.

Venus will appear as a black dot as it slides past the Sun - at 5.37am in London - and this sight will not come again until 105 years from now in 2117. 

The nearly 7-hour show can be seen in its entirety from the western Pacific, eastern Asia and eastern Australia. Other parts of the globe will catch portions of the transit. 

As in a solar eclipse, do not look directly at the sun. There are ways to watch the Venus transit without blinding yourself. 

If you still have your pair of eclipse glasses from the May 20 'ring of fire' solar eclipse, now is a good time to reuse it.

You can also find the special viewing glasses at your local museum - if they're not already sold out. Another option is to buy welder's glasses from a home improvement store, but make sure it's number 14 or darker.

Tuesday 3 more day's till cross country at Daise Hill 

On Friday it was cross county.  We ran one km. It was very hard!  We had to run around the school.
I had a lot of fun! My friend Mitchell came 1st and my other friend Liam came 2nd.  My other friend, Bailey, who usually comes first every year, had to race the year fours.  He came 5th.  I said to him "you are so lucky to come in the top 5".
